Important information for our customers
Bespoke & Made-to-Order Work: All upholstery, reupholstery, and made-to-measure sofas are custom-made to your specifications. Lead times, pricing, and designs are tailored individually and may vary by project.
Quotes & Estimates: Quotes are based on the information provided. Final pricing may change if additional work, materials, or issues are discovered during inspection or site visits.
Measurements & Accuracy: You are responsible for providing accurate measurements unless a site visit is arranged. Measurements given without a site visit are treated as estimates.
Showroom Visits by Appointment Only: All showroom visits require a booked appointment for consultation and design discussion only, with no obligation to purchase.
Deposits & Payments: A deposit may be required before work begins, especially for bespoke or made-to-order items. Final payment is typically due upon completion or before delivery.
Cancellations & Changes: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling appointments. Custom work already started may not be refundable.
Materials & Fabric Selection: Fabric colours, textures, and finishes may vary slightly from samples. Discuss fabric care, durability, and suitability before confirming orders.
Care & Maintenance: MD Upholstery Sofa Makers provides guidance on care, but ongoing maintenance and correct use are your responsibility.
Commercial & Hospitality Projects: Commercial projects may be subject to different timelines, pricing, and terms due to scale and compliance requirements.
Liability & Wear: Normal wear and tear over time is expected. MD Upholstery Sofa Makers is not responsible for damage caused by misuse, accidents, or improper care after delivery.

Rules and guidelines
All upholstery work is custom-made or bespoke, so materials, designs, and finishes are agreed before work begins.
Quotes are provided in good faith based on the information given and may change if the scope of work changes.
Timescales are estimates and can vary depending on materials, design complexity, and workload.
Finished items should be inspected on collection or delivery, and any issues should be reported promptly.
Customers must:
- Provide accurate measurements, photos, and details to ensure correct quotes and results.
- Inform MD Upholstery Sofa Makers about any changes to design, fabric, or size after work has started as it may affect cost and completion time.
- Book showroom visits by appointment only.
- Give at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
- Ensure access to the property is safe and suitable if on-site measurements or deliveries are required.
- Understand that natural variations in fabrics, colours, and finishes are normal and part of bespoke upholstery work.
- Be aware that deposits may be required before work starts on made-to-measure or bespoke items.

What if something goes wrong?
If you are unhappy with our service or something doesn’t go as planned, we encourage you to contact MD Upholstery Sofa Makers as soon as possible. We take all concerns seriously and aim to resolve issues fairly, professionally, and promptly.
We will:
- Review the issue and discuss it openly with you.
- Assess the work carried out and determine the best solution.
- Where appropriate, offer adjustments, repairs, or corrective work.
Our goal is always to ensure you are satisfied with the final result. Any concerns must be raised within a reasonable time after completion so they can be addressed effectively. This process does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Please be aware that all upholstery work is bespoke and handcrafted, meaning each project is tailored to individual requirements. Timescales, costs, and final results depend on design choices, materials, and measurements. Quotes may be estimates until full details or a site visit are completed. We aim to deliver high-quality, durable upholstery made to last.
You should:
- Provide accurate measurements, photos, and information where requested.
- Confirm fabric and design choices before work begins.
- Allow reasonable access for site visits or collection where agreed.
- Give at least 24 hours’ notice for appointment cancellations or changes.
- Understand that bespoke items cannot usually be cancelled once production has started.
If you are unhappy, please contact us as soon as possible. We aim to resolve issues fairly and professionally. Where appropriate, we will inspect the work and discuss possible solutions. As all items are custom-made, refunds may not always be possible, but we are committed to addressing genuine concerns wherever we reasonably can.
Please be aware that:
- Upholstery colours and finishes may vary slightly due to lighting, fabric batches, or natural materials.
- Measurements or quotes may change following a site visit.
- Normal wear and tear is not considered a fault.
- Liability is limited to the value of the work carried out.
We comply with UK consumer laws, including data protection (GDPR).
